Chimichurri: An Argentine Delicacy 🇦🇷
Chimichurri is an uncooked sauce used both as an ingredient in cooking and as a table condiment for grilled meat. It's an Argentine and Uruguayan sauce or condiment, similar to pesto, that is popular throughout South America.
The sauce comes in a Green (Chimichurri Verde) and Red (Chimichurri Rojo) appearance.
The basic version of Chimichurri is made of finely chopped parsley, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, oregano, red pepper flakes and red wine vinegar though the variations on this theme are endless.
In Argentina, chimichurri is used both as a marinade and a sauce for asado, grilled steak or roasted sausages, but you can use it also with fish, chicken, lamb, or even pasta.
